Annual review of the tourist season in the destination, economic report on tourist activity in the Landes and in New Aquitaine, tourist customer survey… these are just some of the subjects and documents made available by the Mimizan Intercommunal Tourist Office.

Who are the holidaymakers staying here?

Between April and the end of October 2019, the Comité Départemental du Tourisme des Landes, now the Landes Attractivité agency, conducted a survey of tourist customers welcomed throughout the department, whether on the coast or inland. The previous survey dated back to 2013.

Thanks to the support of the Communauté de Communes de Mimizan, the Office Intercommunal de Tourisme de Mimizan has been able to focus on its own territory. As a result, we now have precise information on ..:

  • the profile of visitors
  • how they prepare their stay, what they do once they’re here
  • their behavior and expectations

GOOD TO KNOW: a new survey of tourist clientele is currently being carried out at the Nouvelle Aquitaine level (December 2024 / December 2025), and the OIT wanted to benefit from a new focus on its destination. The results will be available in the 1st half of 2026.

Tourism season in review

Every year, Mimizan’s ILO draws up a report on the tourist season (generally from April to the end of September), thanks to the collaboration of its partners. On average, more than100 tourism players (accommodation, restaurants, activities, places to visit and nightlife, shops and services) are surveyed.

To do this, the OIT collaborates with the Observatory department of the Landes Attractivité agency.

You can also consult the season reports produced by Nouvelle Aquitaine and Landes Attractivité.

Business report 2023

Each year, the OIT de Mimizan is required to draw up an activity report for the past year, which is submitted to the members of its management committee and to the members of the council of the Communauté de Communes de Mimizan, on which it depends.

This report, drafted by the entire team, focuses on each of the OIT’s missions: reception / publishing / canvassing, promotion / communication, organization and sale of group stays, coordination and management of events or guided tours, networking of OIT partners, general operation of the OIT and management of the Maurice Martin room.
