Namaste On the beach

A few notes of music are all it takes to plunge you into a soothing universe where the body becomes your best ally in well-being: discover Air Dancing Yoga® with Cathy.

A qualified sports instructor, Cathy shares her energy through a wide range of yoga, pilates, acrosport and zumba classes . But if you want to experience a suspended moment, join her for an Air Dancing Yoga® class. This young discipline combines yoga, pilates and dance. To an appropriate tempo, Cathy performs a series of yoga postures. We follow her as much as we let ourselves be carried along by the flow of the music to compose a harmonious dance sequence. Faithful to the disciplines from which it draws its inspiration, Air Dancing Yoga® combines the benefits of flexibility, muscular strengthening, balance and coordination, all guided by a highly relaxing form of letting go. From one posture to the next, a regenerative energy invades us, helping to free our emotions.

Charmed by these choreographies, we can see ourselves doing them again in the early hours of the morning, facing the ocean. On the fine sands of La Garluche beach, with the sun’s rays shining down on us, we find our flow to decline the postures and start the day in the sweetest, most intense way.

Did you know? Air Dancing Yoga®️a was invented by Béatrix de Montalier, a former ballet dancer, during the first confinement in March 2020.

Toutou Youtou

With your canine BFF, head for theEtang de la Mailloueyre trail to try out cani-cross: an energizing session during which you run with your dog strapped to your belt. On a 12km circuit of sand, paths and even steps on the dunes, you alternate between different terrains to vary the pleasures. A shared effort creates instant complicity and immediate reward.
And for those who feel like dogfish in the water, try your hand at cani-paddling. On a sunny autumn day, opt for a refreshing activity for you and your pooch. With the board resting on the water, let your dog climb in first: he’ll sniff around and get his bearings, before you join him… taking care not to capsize you. Once you’re up, the adventure begins for the kings of the water.
And for the more experienced cani-paddlers, try your hand at cani-surfing: two-up wave riding. With the Landes pines as a backdrop, share a moment of iodized complicity, linked like the 5 fingers of a paw!

Booster:

Mimizan loves dogs, from morning… to night! The proof is in the form of a fine collection of dog-friendly accommodation: count on the Bellevue and Emeraude des Bois hotels, the Lac and Landes Bleuescampsites, as well as the Domaines des Dunes and Goelia residences. There’s plenty of choice for our four-legged friends to have sweet dreams.

Wild wild Lake

After the hustle and bustle of summer, it’s time for the gentleness of autumn. Head for Lac d’Aureilhan, an ideal spot for slow-paced activities. Between freshwater fishing, paddleboarding and kayaking, activate the slow mode.

Pine trees as far as the eye can see, absolute silence, a soothing setting where time seems suspended – welcome to Lac d’Aureilhan. Here, the choice is yours. If you’re a master of balance, you’ll enjoy gliding across the water on a paddleboard, while duos can test their symbiosis and complementarity on board a canoe-kayak. Paddle in hand, you’re guided by your desires, exploring the best hidden spots on Lac d’Aureilhan. Early risers, meanwhile, will be delighted by the calm that reigns on this busy lake from early morning. The ripples on the surface reveal a wealth of aquatic life that you’ll be eager to discover. With fishing rod in hand, you’re ready to titillate the soles, sea bass and sea breams that inhabit the area. At every moment of the day, the delicate Indian summer sun reflects its golden light into the water, creating a play of light and shadow that accentuates the beauty of the place. What do all these activities have in common? Enjoying this unspoilt place, while discovering it to the slow rhythm… of the water.

Booster: If Lac d’Aureilhan is a haven for freshwater sailors, it’s also a haven of biodiversity that invites exploration. As you stroll through the surrounding forest, you’ll encounter egrets, grey herons and mallards, as well as kingfishers, water rails and European Cistude turtles. Keep your eyes peeled!

Happy Growers

Would you like to meet a queen bee? Now’s your chance with Ruchers du Born in Pontenx-les-Forges. Put on a beekeeper’s outfit and immerse yourself in the discovery of these precious insects with their timeless striped coat.

In the heart of the Landes forest, nestled among the pines, almost 1000 colonies of bees are gathered together, producing Landes honey every day, carefully collected by passionate beekeepers.
Since 1960, the Ruchers du Born farm has been living to the rhythm of the buzzing of these ladies busy with their sweet production, a delicate honey whose secrets you can discover (and even taste, yum). Once you’re dressed, you follow the guide to witness the key moment: the opening of the hive. You’ll discover a colony in full swing, and will you be able to unmask the Queen? As the tour progresses, you’ll learn all about production techniques, before leaving with your own jar of honey. And for those with a sweet tooth, it could well become the darling of your breakfasts and snacks. If the end of the activity sounds too soon, why not enjoy the soothing air of the pine forest.
